The opening year for the International Academy of Sfax (IAS) was the 2018-19 school year.
We have a goal to grow and provide the highest quality of education available in a K-12 private school in the great city of Sfax. Students entering IAS in the early years of their education have an opportunity that will be life changing, as they learn the English language and are able to communicate with ease in three languages, including French and Arabic, in an international setting.
The International Academy of Sfax is a unique private school. Our classroom instructions are based on an internationally accepted curriculum. Our students will learn English from the first day they enter our classes. The English language will be used in most class time by our teachers who are from the United States.
Our goal in the tri-lingual studies introduces French language studies early in their primary grades. Students will also receive lessons in standard Arabic from qualified educators. These language studies will continue throughout the grades. French and English will be taught so that students will be prepared to enter their chosen university with great success.
All students will be trained to use technology in the classroom setting to support their learning and use technology to enhance the opportunity through online and distance-learning courses.
We plan to grow each year
IAS is adding a grade level annually to become a K-12 academy. The present site will accommodate up to the 6th grade. An additional site will be built for the upper school.
The education process will be creative and exciting. We will incorporate a variety of international studies in each grade level. Students will have multiple opportunities to learn and celebrate tradition of their culture and those of many countries around the world.
The classrooms are designed for creativity and interaction with teachers and students. Our teachers are trained in the common core curriculum and will use a variety of learning strategies to provide each student with opportunities for achieving excellence. Success for each student is our focus.
The learning environment of our classes will be challenging and enjoyable. Students will have an opportunity to achieve in the Arts and Sciences as well. Students will feel the warmth and care of our teachers and staff.
