  • IAS is a bilingual English and French School.
  • Only native English-speaking teachers will teach English.
  • English will be taught beginning in K1 and K classes.

At each grade level, students will be challenged to apply critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills to be competent and successful in their current and future endeavours.

  • Memorization and rote learning are a part of all education. These are the main focus in measuring academic achievement in traditional learning. However, IAS is moving towards interactive learning where students apply what they are learning to life examples, understanding and solving problems. Memorization and rote learning play a part but are not the main focus. Written and verbal communications will be expected as a greater part of academic evaluations.
  • These skills will be modeled and used in lower school as students are challenged to use their different talents and abilities with their peers in teamwork and problem solving.
  • The application of these skills will progress as students move into the upper grades. IAS will provide students with learning tasks that challenge them to use their critical-thinking and problem-solving skills in realistic situations requiring the application of analytical thinking.

A graduate of IAS will be able to compete academically internationally or locally for any career they choose.

  • When students graduate from IAS they should have the academic skills necessary for any career path they choose.
  • There are many different career paths, not all lead to higher education. Some students are extremely gifted in non-academic skills. IAS will support and provide the educational background through interaction with the business community.
  • If students choose international opportunities, they should be prepared through their progressive studies in the multilingual high academic educational opportunity at IAS.

All levels of students will be creative and interactive in their learning environment and build relationships with their peers and the family of IAS.

  • Each student will have the opportunity to use their creative ability as required daily in our interactive classrooms. Students will become a part of the family of IAS and proudly represent our values wherever they are.

The leaders and staff at IAS will model ways for students to become responsible leaders in the community. The expectation is for all affiliated with IAS to uphold high ethical life principles.

  • The learning opportunities are not limited to the Academy itself.
  • Students will have opportunities to demonstrate their ability to work in teams, take on leadership roles in the classrooms and on campus and also participate in community projects to better understand the culture in which they live.
